CPR & AED — adult, child and infant

The American Heart Association's course for people who may have to run a resuscitation as part of their job. It is the clinical one: the vocabulary, the team roles and the equipment are all in it.

Who it is for. Nurses, medical and dental staff, and anyone whose employer asks for BLS by name.

Who certifies you
The American Heart Association. Taught by a certified AHA instructor.
What you leave with
An AHA BLS Provider eCard, valid two years.
How you are assessed
A skills test on the manikin, watched, and a written test. Both have to be passed.
Bring with you
Your own BLS Provider Manual — bought from the AHA before class.
How long
Four hours. The length is set by the American Heart Association.

The American Heart Association requires every student to own the BLS Provider Manual before class starts. Buy it direct from the AHA — it is not included in the course fee and we cannot sell it to you at the door.

American Heart Association BLS Provider eCard, valid two years. You are assessed on a watched skills test and a written test, and both have to be passed — nobody is issued a card they could not earn.
